Cargolux is a Luxembourgish cargo airline and one of the largest in Europe.

A calculation was required of the maximum allowable tensile and shear stresses for portable oxygen sets onboard Boeing 747-400F and 747-8F aircraft. Fastener locations and dimensions of the strap assembly were specified on technical drawings for the emergency equipment.

Ian collaborated with companies providing the parts for the strap: using CAD software he designed the optimal strap assembly, thus ensuring a safer product for securing oxygen sets.
